Another cool company is joining Startup Weekend Hamburg as a sponsor. Liquid Labs – the laboratory for innovation in Hamburg – becomes a part of the event this June.  Their philosophy and way of doing business is a great match for Startup Weekend Hamburg. Liquid Labs is no a classic venture capital fund, nor incubator or accelerator. The team has a lot of experience in running and financing businesses. Now they combine both in a really hands-on way.

Michael Backes from Liquid Labs has been mentoring teams at the previous Startup Weekend in Hamburg. So he knows the format quiet well and told us when we asked why Liquid Labs is supporting the event:  ”Startup Weekend as it’s very much aligned with the way we work. We support innovation within our group but also try to further it outside of our lab. Startup Weekend gives us an opportunity to give back based upon what we’ve learned and to interact with the people who are doing cutting edge technology.”

We are just as excited as Michael and his colleagues are to meet all of you on June 8th. The past weekend we went to Berlin to take part in the Berlin Startup Weekend 2012 and now we are even more excited about the event here in Hamburg.
