It’s official Startup Weekend 2012 will take place from June 8th – 10th at the HafenCity University in Hamburg. Startup Weekend Hamburg 2011 was just so amazing that we have to do it again. In the coming weeks we will announce a lot more news regarding the event and about what to expect. We are working on some cool gimmicks for the weekend.

Startup Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable. On average, half of Startup Weekend’s attendees have technical backgrounds, the other half have business backgrounds.

Ingo Franz is a Partner with CREATHOR VENTURE and has been working in the venture capital industry for more than ten years. He has a broad investment and lead investor experience in IT/Media, software, communication and new materials companies. He has served as a director on boards of German, French, US companies and has a successful track record with IPO and trade-sale transactions. Prior to joining CREATHOR VENTURE, Ingo Franz was an Investment Manager at Technologieholding and later on Investment Director with 3i heading the German electronics and materials investment activities.
Prior to his venture capital career, Ingo managed strategy and technology initiatives in the high-tech, manufacturing and logistics industry for the Bossard Consulting Group and Gemini Management Consulting. With 24 he became CEO of (now, 4 days after 9/11 and established the service as nr 2 in the Swiss eBrokerage market. With the IPO of Xing in 2006 where Alfonso served as part of the country management for Switzerland he finally makes up for some bubble write offs and takes a year off to attend MIT as a Sloan Fellow. in 2009 Alfonso takes over the CEO position of, growing the existing business and establishing the service in the top 3 sites and mobile apps in Switzerland and eventually co-initiates the merger with the official directories and yellow pages providers under brand.
